Digital projects and archives librarian, experienced in the design and implementation of infrastructure and workflows for high-impact digital collections, preservation, institutional repositories, metadata cataloging, and digital humanities research.
As a librarian-archivist with a radical streak, my professional practice has long been geared for:
promoting universal access to cultural heritage collections in academic and state libraries;
leading trans- and multi-institutional collaborations in archival research and development;
democratizing information systems & arming communities against data colonialism, disinformation, and censorship;
equipping non-specialists to gain control over the means of information;
developing low-cost, low-barrier workflows and toolchains for digital preservation;
supporting activist models of archival praxis;
producing honest and broadly representative historical records;
mentoring peers at resource-constrained organizations in digital preservation and archival projects.
Outside of office hours my life is mainly devoted to making electronic music and analog video art, film photography, cuddling with a matching brace of black cats, and moonlighting as a mechanic & instructor at a local community bike shop.
I do not use social media, including (but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, X, and so on. Any profiles in my name are used for API access, scraping / archiving, and other work-related tasks requiring login credentials with those services. Please contact me through other channels.
